London, England – Tyler The Creator’s return to England didn’t go as planned. A surprise show in London had to be canceled after a rowdy crowd forced police to shut it down over safety concerns.
The Odd Future founder attempted to stage an event at the Bussey Building in London’s Peckham neighborhood. The impromptu concert would’ve been Tyler’s first performance in the United Kingdom since he was banned from the country in 2015.
“Too rowdy, cops cancelled it, go home, i tried, the gate climbing nail in the coffin, they go nervous, too bad was a cool idea,” Tyler wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Although Tyler couldn’t perform as he intended, he did share his excitement over the fan response and promised to deliver a show in London in the future.
“man london kids was blasting IGOR in the streets and stores and a fucking train station yall crazy i love it, feels like the early days before weirdos were sue happy,” he wrote. “sucks it was too wild ( out of excitment) but i am coming back trust me.”
Tyler is fresh off the release of his fifth studio album, Igor. The LP features collaborations with Kanye West, Playboi Carti, A$AP Rocky and Santigold, among others.
